When arranging host families for students, every effort is made to take into account any needs or preferences they may have, such as smoker or non-smoker, allergies, English ability, and so on. Host families can act as guides and mentors, friends and companions, and a wonderful resource. They are likely to be the people students become closest to during their stay, which is why all host family applicants are thoroughly screened, to ensure that they can provide a suitable environment to assist learning and to allow the fullest possible experience of Japan.

Host families are chosen to be as close to the school, and the center of Fukuoka City, as possible. All are within one hour's traveling time of the school by public transport. Students are guaranteed to have their own private room, which may be either Japanese or Western style.
Dinner can be arranged with the host family for 500 yen per night.

Students staying with Japanese families should be as sensitive as possible to cultural differences and make every effort to conform to their host's expectations of them.
