School Details

This is a small, friendly school which has around 70 students, so everyone soon knows everyone else's name. Getting to know people quickly and making lots of friends make studying so much more fun.  The staff take time to get to know the students, listen to them, help them and teach them. They help with everything, including accommodation and getting a visa for those who need one.

Students are aged between 18-60, many preparing for entry to university, especially Robert Gordon and Aberdeen universities. Classes are small (on average 10 students) so students learn English faster. There are people at the school from all over the world - in a typical class of 10 students, they might come from 10 different countries.

They also get to know British culture - the staff at the school make sure they see lots and lots of beautiful Scotland.  With this in mind, a wide range of social activites and excursions is offered every week.

The school was started in 2006 and is now an authorised Cambridge exam centre.  Some of the most popular classes are the IELTS examination preparation courses.

Accommodation Details

Two types of accommodation are offered - Homestay, with a local family, and Student Residences.  A non-refundable charge of £30 is made for arranging accommodation for students.  The minimum stay is two weeks.

Homestay - available all the year round.  Prices are between £110 and £170 per week, depending on the facilities and meal arrangements the student requires.  All rooms are single rooms, and may be available with private bathrooms.  There are self-catering, bed and breakfast, or half board options. Thus, for example, a room with self-catering arrangements and a shared bathroom would cost £100 per week and a room with private bathroom and half-board would cost £170.

Student Residences -  A variety of options exists, depending on budget and time of year.  The rooms share kitchens and a lounge; some share bathrooms and some are en suite.  It is advisable to enquire which options are available for the period of the course.  There is full availability throughout the summer, but limited availability during the rest of the year.
